Dr. Umadevi ( Founder) is an alumini of Government Dental College, Chennai, where she did her graduation and post graduation.
She has been practicing dentistry for more than 37 years, since her graduation in 1987 till date.
She is the recipient of the Tamil Nadu Young Women’s Scientist Award in the field of Medical Sciences for the year 2004.
She was a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of California in 2005.
In addition, she has been the recipient of the Fogarty Fellowship of University of Berkeley, California, as a research scholar and her fellowship in the field of oral pathology and oral medicine has been at University of California, San Francisco (USA).
She was also recipient of the best teacher award, awarded by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in 2012, for outstanding contribution to the advancement of Dental Sciences.
She was the recipient of Fellowship of The Indian Society of Dental Research (Indian Division of International association of Dental Research) and Indian association of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologists for outstanding contribution to the field of Dental Sciences.
She was the Joint secretary of ISDR and executive committee member of Indian Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial pathologists for 4 terms.
She has delivered guest lecturers in National and International forum and has well over 100 publications in national and international, peer-reviewed journals.
She has been a faculty in several workshops on Research methodology for post graduate and research scholars in many institutions.
